Change is messy.
Clarity is possible.

Loretta Rogers Cooper, PCC

Clarity Coaching and Consulting

Welcome

You're in the right place if...

You’re preparing high-potential leaders for bigger roles.

You’re driving transformation and need your teams ready to lead it.

You’re developing leaders whose communication skills need to match their expertise.

Burnout is threatening your organization’s performance and retention.

Meet Loretta

Leaders come to me when change feels disruptive.

Transitions rarely go as planned.  There’s often a gap between the vision and the reality, between what leaders intend and what people actually experience.  This is where most change efforts stall. It’s also where I do my best work.

As a former network journalist, I bring investigative rigor to organizational challenges. I interview stakeholders, collect data, and ask the questions no one else is asking — until the real story comes into focus.

From there, we get to work. We clarify the narrative, build the communication strategy, and develop the leadership capacity to carry change forward – in ways that build resilience rather than burn through it.

Let's navigate it together.

Leading What's Next

Leadership Coaching

Leadership transitions are rarely smooth. Whether you’ve been promoted, hired from outside, or stepping into bigger responsibilities, the shift into what’s next demands something different from you.
The challenges are real:

  • Delegating work that once defined you
  • Leading former peers
  • Building new stakeholder relationships
  • Establishing credibility in a new context

I work with leaders navigating these moments—moving from technical expertise to broader leadership, from doing the work to developing others.

How it Works

We start with an assessment and feedback from the people you work with to understand your strengths and the patterns that get in your way.
From there, we focus on the shift into leading others—using your strengths wisely, developing your people, and aligning your team’s work with what matters most. Throughout, you’ll connect your leadership to what you genuinely care about.

“When I sensed a crossroads before me, who did I call? Loretta! I knew I could trust her to ask me probing questions and have my best interest at heart. She treated me like the most important person in the room.”

Creating the conditions for teams to thrive

Team Development & Organizational Change

Teams thrive when there’s clarity, trust, and alignment. Whether you’re launching a new team, navigating change, or working through friction, I help you create the conditions that make strong performance possible.

Seeing What’s Helping—and What’s Getting in the Way

We start by understanding how the team is working today—where expectations are clear, where roles or priorities are drifting, and where conflict or low psychological safety may be getting in the way. From there, we build a plan that strengthens habits, relationships, and shared ways of working over time.

Building Alignment for What's Ahead

Most change efforts don’t fail for lack of strategy. They fail because the people doing the work never really understood what was being asked of them. I find that out through interviews and data, then build the communication infrastructure to fix it: compelling messaging, leadership training that creates change leaders throughout the organization, and a plan that brings everyone into the story.

When Burnout is Threatening Performance

And sometimes the signal isn’t misalignment or change—it’s burnout. I help teams recognize early warning signs, understand the difference between healthy pressure and chronic overwhelm, and build practices that support sustainable performance for the long haul.

“Loretta corralled me and my executive peers to drive strategic change. Her guidance brought out the best in an already hyperfocused and uber competitive professional group. She extracted the optimal mix of constructive conflict to break old ways of thinking and helped us coalesce a re-engineered approach to breaking down silos. Loretta is a consummate professional and a plain-spoken, strong leader.”

Presentation Coaching

Your ideas matter. Your expertise is real. But without clarity and confidence when it counts, your impact is limited. Whether you’re preparing for a high-stakes presentation, stepping into a role that demands greater visibility, or struggling with public speaking fears, I help you find your voice and use it effectively.

Getting Started

I work with leaders stepping into roles where communication carries more weight, influencers who need to use their platform with intention, and anyone whose communication skills are limiting their impact.

We begin by understanding how you communicate today—what’s working, what’s getting in your way, and what the moment requires. I draw on years of communicating under pressure to help you do the same, shaping a plan that supports the situations where your voice needs to carry.

What We Focus On

  • Presentations: Structure, delivery, and Q&A
  • Leadership communication: Authority, credibility, and connection
  • Media moments: Staying on message under pressure
  • Confidence: Practice, feedback, refinement.

This is iterative work. We practice, apply it, and refine together. Over time, you build genuine confidence—the kind that comes from knowing you can deliver when it matters most.

“Loretta has an impressive ability to command a room of executives with her poise, directness, active listening, and human connection. The expertise she models has been developed over years as a news correspondent and her continuous learning in coaching, psychology, leadership development, and team dynamics.”

Facilitation & Workshops

Facilitation

The best-facilitated conversations don’t stick to the script– they open up  possibilities.  My job is to create the conditions for honest dialogue, surface what’s in the room, and help groups move from polite agreement to the kind of exchange that actually changes things.

  • Large group and executive panel facilitation – conferences, leadership summits, and strategic offsites
  • Live audience engagement tools that surface real-time thinking and get people talking to each other, not just to the front of the room
  • Team and Board Retreats –  leadership offsites that build trust, clarify the vision and create momentum for change

Workshops & Keynotes

Research-based, immediately useful, and built to leave people with something they can actually use.

  • Leading Change & Navigating Transitions — A framework for moving through change with intention. Leaders and teams build readiness, find alignment, and develop practical strategies for each stage of transition.
  •  Building High-Performance Teams —Drawing on decades of research into team effectiveness, this session helps teams see what each person brings, where collaboration breaks down, and how to build the conditions for sustained high performance.”
  • Beating Burnout & Building Resilience — Supports teams navigating complex change by helping them spot early signs of burnout, understand the difference between productive stress and chronic overwhelm, and build sustainable practices for themselves and their teams.

Offered as half‑day or full‑day workshops, keynotes, or conference sessions. Every session is tailored to your audience and organizational context.

“Loretta was a wonderful collaborator on an executive event for 100 CMOs. She was insightful, engaging and facilitated skillfully. She completely understood what would best drive conversation and meaning. I would definitely refer her for other executive discussions across industries since she quickly adapts to the nuances and key themes across sectors.”

What I Bring to the Work

A journalist’s instinct for asking the questions that matter, following the story to  reveal what’s really going on, and helping people make sense of complexity.

Award-winning communication expertise including multiple Edward R. Murrow Awards, a DuPont-Columbia Award for excellence in reporting, and recognition from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for coverage of the events surrounding September 11, 2001.

An investigative approach that uncovers patterns, reveals hidden barriers, and connects people to the work.
